Bernadette Fridge I’ve seen my share of bachelor refrigerators, having been single for 5 years this August. It’s a sad state of affairs. I figure there are some fridges that are in desperate need of help.

man woman eat food

His = Bad…………….Hers = Good

But you know what the funniest part of hours of reviewing fridge photos and accompanying stories that readers sent me? Every fridge that had crappy stuff in it, she said, “THAT’S MY HUSBAND’S STUFF!” (I’m not kidding. Every single one blamed her husband.)

One reader, McKenna, sent a list of her fridge contents, in a fabulous little well-organized table, showing “GREAT STUFF (HERS)” and “BAD STUFF (HIS).” She had about 25 items on her list, lovely green, red, orange, yellow whole-food items. And he had two. Steaks, and beer. She said, “As you can tell, I’m winning the war.” No doubt. The poor guy is relegated to a tiny side corner of the family icebox.

Here’s the BEST fridge photo I received that earned its owner a $99 12 Steps to Whole Foods manual. It’s not just gorgeous and organized; it’s also just fun to READ the contents. Shows how ambitious GSG reader Benadette Astrella from San Jose, CA, is. You can tell she has fun with food!

She healed her new husband Rocco from Type II diabetes with a plant-based diet. (I met him at my class in San Jose last month, and he’s a believer! He told me what his wife had done for him, and I said, “Go get her! I want to meet this woman!”)

Wow, Bernadette, you’ve got an utterly glorious fridge! Here’s what we’re lookin’ at:

On the third shelf is: My husband’s home grown Cauliflower, English Cucumbers, 4 packages Cherry & Grape Tomatoes, my husband’s home grown 2 Green Cabbages, Green Onions, frozen defrosting Corn & Edamame, more Kale, Romaine, Avocados. Congratulations, Bernadette! I peeked inside lots of AWESOME fridges, but you TAKE THE CAKE, friend! Friday, the sorriest fridge photo we got. After that, some runners-up, their stories, and a peek at what they buy and store.
