testimonial

Dear GreenSmoothieGirl:

The best anti-depressant you taught me about is bee pollen! I started taking it a year ago and got off all my meds! Thank you!

—Carolyn

Comment from Robyn: I spoke about bee pollen’s impact on sexual health at a few classes recently. One wife got her husband to use bee pollen, and he had a severe allergic reaction. (A friend of mine heard about it third-hand and told me.) As I said in those classes, make sure you try ONE GRAIN of bee pollen, then two the next day if you do okay with it. Build up to a tsp. a day when you’ve ascertained you’re not allergic to it!

    Hi Robyn,

I’m confused about soy products, and which ones to avoid. There is a recipe in your collection named “Shrek Shake” that calls for a scoop of soy protein powder. I was surprised to see it in there after learning about staying away from soy protein isolate. Is that the same thing? Also, what about organic soy beans, oil, or butter – common in Odwalla snack bars? Or soy lecithin?

    Thanks.

Those are the favorite recipes of my readers, not mine. You can use a vegan alternative that doesn’t use soy, like SunWarrior’s protein powder. I would just use any soy products very sparingly. I occasionally use Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or Nama Shoyu as seasonings. Not protein-isolate bars, etc.

    Hi Robyn,

I know its unrelated but I had seen you as one of the speakers for the WISH summit, and now see you are no longer on there. Just wondering what happened. I was looking forward to hearing you speak! All the best, hope to see you in San Francisco for a class soon =)

Angela, I agreed to do it, and then Tera said I had to send an email about it to my 55,000 subscribers, and when I opted out of that, she took me out of the speaking lineup. Sorry! 🙂

    Robyn,

Can you post a link to find your take on the soy? I’ve notice that you don’t use any, but never been able to read why. Or point me in the direction of a good resource to do the research myself! Thanks!

    Hi Robyn,

I just had a fast question. I have tried your pink smoothie a time or two but for me I must just be putting in to much beet because I feel like I am just drinking liquid beets. lol

But my daughter loves them. My question is this, about the cashews, are they raw like the almonds you use? I mean where do you purchase yours.

I have seen pound bags sold at Kroger that say roasted and salted, is this what you use? Thanks for your help. We are new to this and have had a time trying to locate all the items you use in your recipes.

  5. Penny,

I’ll jump in on the Hot Pink Smoothie question. I’ve found using small beets that are very fresh work best. (Buy organic and then use the beet greens in a green smoothie later.) They aren’t as “earthy” tasting. I also like to add a dash of cinnamon and two or three drops of Stevia. It doesn’t take much Stevia at all to sweeten it just enough for my taste. Use raw cashews, not roasted and salted. I buy the NOW brand from the website: http://www.iherb.com. Keep trying the hot pink smoothie until you get it right for your taste buds. You’ll become addicted to how great it makes you feel!

  6. Robyn,

That’s really crummy that Tera took you off the WISH summit speaker list! Do your own Summit!! Keep spreading your great message!
