We love green smoothies at our house. I am a homeschooling mom of four children. Three of my children drink smoothies because they love them, and one child drinks her smoothies because it’s a good health choice. I try to vary the ingredients here and there so that they don’t get bored with them. We drink them first thing in the morning. I also have been known to feed them to neighbor children who then will ask to have more! Also, they are pretty tasty as popsicles: I am sure they lose some nutrition being frozen, but the kids love them!

My family and I have been drinking green smoothie for 8 months. It has been our addiction. If I miss a day, I feel it and crave it instead of cake. My kids who are 9 and 6 actually ask me for them, so they have some before school. I no longer have pre-hypertension and I have lost 25 lbs.     Robyn, I enjoyed the webinar and am very excited about the GPDB website. I am having trouble logging onto the site and have contacted them to help me resolve my problem, hopefully we will get it fixed quick. I do have a question for you, my husband is battling cancer of some sort, we don’t know what kind yet, and I am trying to get as many green smoothies as possible in him a day. We are also doing carrot juice and trying to learn to eat raw. The juicing and smoothies are easy but the raw eating is so foreign to me it has been a challenge for me but I am learning. My question is can I make enough green smoothie for the whole day or make it at night and have it cold and ready for morning or does it loose its nutrients sitting? I do not put any frozen fruit only fresh so its not very cold when I first make it, and can I also put the carrot juice in with it? It is just hard to get him to drink all of these drinks I’m making because he gets so full. My goal is 3 quarts a day of green smoothie and the same for carrot juice. One more quick question since I am adding water to the green smoothie to blend do we still need as much water to drink during the day as normal or does this water count for some? Thank you so much for helping me and any info on web sites or books or anything on Raw eating would also be appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon.

    You can certainly “count” the water in green smoothies, but don’t eliminate clean, fresh water, because it is critical for flushing the organs of elimination when they are at rest.

    Yes, you can make green smoothies the night before, no problem.

    Good luck to you and your husband, Pamala. You are doing some very good things. (And yes, you can put carrot juice in your smoothies.)
