Tools for Healthy Living

These are my favorite tools to help you achieve extraordinary health!


While I believe all the tools on this page are a huge help in achieving extraordinary health, ranking things that belong in a whole-foods kitchen, my priorities for starting out are as follows:

  1. The best blender for a raw diet (BlendTec or VitaMix).
  2. Water Ionizer
  3. Grain Mill
  4. Dehydrator

These are other, lesser-known tools that I feel are very helpful to have in your home to optimize immune function and greatly reduce EMF radiation and pesticides for excellent health even in a toxic world:


A blender is my first priority in tools you should get.

I haven’t found any other blender that even comes close to a Blendtec – they’re just not powerful enough. Vitamix is a great option too. To get the best benefit from your green smoothies, they need to be blended nice and smooth for proper digestion.  Using other blenders will give you “chunkies” to drink instead of smoothies.

Water Ionizers

Most people know that tap water isn’t good for us. But what water should you drink?  Alkaline Water!

Why drink alkaline water? You’ll get more antioxidants than you could eat in a day, from your water. Add a water ionizer to make your water alkaline, installing it after the R.O. system and remineralizer, if you have R.O. already. Not only will you have alkaline water to use in all cooking and drinking, but you’ll also have acid water for many other uses (cleaning, killing bugs on plants, antibacterial).

Grain Mill (Wheat or Gluten-Free Grains Grinder)

A grain grinder is a MUST so that you can leave white flour behind forever. White flour is stripped of nutrition—it’s the grain with the germ (vitamins) and bran (fiber) removed.

You can buy whole-wheat flour, but it oxidizes quickly after being ground, and the oils in the grains become rancid. Because of this, store-bought whole wheat flour often doesn’t taste good. (It’s also not good for you when it’s rancid.) I believe that when people say they don’t like whole-wheat foods, what they really mean is that they don’t like RANCID whole wheat, which they’ve experienced in many products. There’s nothing more wonderful than baked goods made with freshly milled flour!


Sprouting (and dehydrating) is very frankly the most sophisticated nutrition principle I teach. For newbies, I start with lower level things: getting more fruits and vegetables in the diet, and eating whole grains, for instance. Most Americans are not prepared for the idea of sprouting and live foods. Some of my readers are so ambitious that they go ALL OUT and within weeks of leaving a processed diet, they’re already sprouting.
