Candied Almond

For a sweet snack and delicious variation on sprouted, dehydrated almonds, these yummy and healthy nuts are perfect to have on hand for the whole family!

  • 8 cups raw almonds (or pecans) soaked and dehydrated at 105 F approx. 6 hours
  • 2/3 cup chopped dates soaked and drained
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. butter, butterscotch, or rum flavor

  1. Blend all ingredients except almonds in a high-powered blender until smooth.

  2. Pour into a bowl and fold nuts, stirring to coat.

  3. Let nuts sit for 20 minutes to absorb the liquid, then stir again.

  4. Spread the nuts on Teflex sheets in a dehydrator. Dry at 105 F for about 16 hours.

  5. Place the nuts on mesh sheets and dry again until crunchy (about 10 hours).
