If you win the Blendtec…..give your “used” one to someone who will do great things with it!
We give a fabulous Blendtec Total Blender to someone at every lecture. In Boise, Idaho, Shawna R., who attended with her physician husband, won the blender. She says she is an introvert whose main goal in life is to “blend into the crowd.” She actually considered NOT claiming her grand prize, just so she didn’t have to say anything in front of a big auditorium of people!
But she did great. And took my request to heart: if you win the Blendtec, then the blessing in your winning it is the person you’re going to gift your used one to, rather than you. Shawna, bless her heart (that’s a Utah/Idaho phrase, forgive me, I’ve lived here a long time), went home and gave it serious thought.
The following Monday morning I got online to find this, from her:
“Because I have followed your work for a couple of years now, I already own a Blendtec which I absolutely love and use multiple times a day for everything—green smoothies and beyond. I began immediately pondering on who I could bless with my old Blendtec. This morning I prayed that Heavenly Father would guide me to the person who most needed, and would most appreciate, my old Blendtec. I thought of my younger sister who is also trying very hard to raise her young family on high nutrition foods and has made green smoothies for her family for a long time using a regular, run-of-the-mill blender until the blender broke.
They have been struggling financially for a few years and she has wanted a Blendtec desperately for quite some time. I decided to call her and offer her my old Blendtec. She couldn’t believe she was about to be blessed with such an amazing item. She felt guilty accepting it, but told me that for several years she has been entering every drawing she can find that is offering a Blendtec, hoping to win because she knew that was the only way she would get one.
She said, “I know it sounds silly, but I have been praying that God would bless me with this gift so I can help my family.” And now she has won one by proxy! We cried together for a moment–her, because she knows God hears her prayers; and me, because I now have the wonderful opportunity to bless her life through this gift.
Thank you for your dedication to educating the rest of us about whole foods nutrition!”What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it, Shawna!
