    Tessa is my vegetarian grandbaby. She loves Kale, Spinach, Snap peas, Green beans anything green. Some of the recipes from GSG with coconut oil are fabulous. They love them.

    I am prepared with Green Smoothies every Thursday when she comes over. She also helps me pick my greens from my square foot garden every week.

    We make our smoothies with, two fruits and handful of broccoli slaw and yogurt, everyone here loves them cannot even taste the veggies.

    Awesome. Cute. Love it! I have a question….I love love love kale smoothies. There is a website out there stating that you shouldn’t drink raw kale and collard greens, especially in smoothies due to thyroid issues. What is your take on this? I personally LOVE kale and a collard in my smoothie its yummo. I like kale, bananas, berries and pineapple. No sweetener needed.

    I wanted to tell you my mom in KY has had health issues for decades. She began drinking smoothies since Easter 2009. She went to the Dr. when I was there and her triglycerides were off the chart, calcium showing ZERO, blood pressure high..etc.etc… She went to the Dr.’s last week and EVERYTHING was normal including her calcium levels. I told her to stop with the milk and she did and picked up some raw almonds, a Blendtec and some green smoothies. She is NOW listening to me and can’t wait to see me in a few weeks to show her how to make other smoothies in her new Blendtec. I am so excited! Thank you so much Robyn for changing our lives with your blogging knowledge. Words can not describe how I feel that she is doing so well!

    Just for those that think they need to water it down or make it mostly fruit to get their kids to drink the smoothies – Not necessary.

    I put mostly greens in mine with some blue berries, no sugar any more. The kids want it because I’m drinking it. Even though I tell them they will not like it. They always want to try it and usually drink more than I want to share. It has replaced their vitamins (which were mostly sugar).

    It ends up acting as a meal replacement, because I’m just not hungry after drining a quart of green smoothie. It is a chore still I have to talk myself into. I don’t crave the donuts or the chocolate.

    I treat it like any suppliment and eat when I’m hungry. No weight loss as of yet. I suspect my body is just healing other issues for now. I sleep better. Avoid foods that tire me because I’m not hungry – blood sugar is stable.

    I just do it because I feel better.

    Unfortunately I dont have a picture of myself with a green moustache. However, a friend pointed out a green gash across the bridge of my nose. lol

  9. Yep! I get the green nose bridge quite often and the green mouth corners! I GS on the way to the gym and sometimes forget to check before I go in! 🙂
