This is what Kristin brings to work

One of these things is not like the other...

One of these things is not like the other…

Coach Amanda and I were standing in my kitchen chatting about jet lag, Monday morning after we came home from Switzerland late the night before. Kristin walked in for work, carrying the three things you see here in this photo.

It cracked me up. I lined up the Green Smoothie, the Hot Pink Breakfast Smoothie, and the Diet Pepsi on the counter, to take a photo.

I said to Amanda, “You could say, which one of these things is not like the other? But, the good news here is, three years ago when Kristin came to work for GSG.com, the only thing she walked in with is the Diet Pepsi! This is a big improvement!”

With just green smoothies, she’s now getting 10 servings of raw greens and fruit. With the pink, she’s getting carrots, beets, dates, cashews, coconut liquid, chia, and strawberries. It’s about 16+ servings, total, of amazing plant food she wasn’t getting before.

incremental improvementIncremental improvement is valuable. Yeah, I don’t love the Diet Pepsi. Kristin goes off it for months at a time now. That’s a big deal, when you consider that she was a non-stop daily DP drinker since her earliest memory! It’s literally been her “comfort food” since childhood. Now she gets inspired during our travels and “goes off” diet soda for long periods, until life throws her some kind of curve-ball and she heads to Walker’s for 32 ounces. (Divorce. Custody battles. Single mom-hood. Curve balls are always zinging out of somewhere for Kristin.)

I love improvements, even when the improvement doesn’t land us in the zone of “perfect” just yet.

  1. Oh how I can relate!!! I even mentioned to you, Robyn, when I finally met you face to face in Baltimore that even though I was drinking the green smoothies, I was still sucking down that darn Dr. Pepper. BUT something finally just clicked and I stopped. That was a year ago this past January. I did have a sip many months into my personal boycott, but it tasted metallic and gross and I spit it out in the sink. So thankful I made that change even though it took me MANY years to finally quit. I still battle with sugar addiction, but I know the more green and pink jars of goodness I consume the more it will push out the junk. So keep it up Kristin, you will be free of that 32 oz before you know it!

I had a sugar addiction until this past January. I started taking Robyn’s Ultimate Minerals and within two to three weeks, my cravings for sugar had decreased drastically … enough for me to quit sugar entirely! I don’t crave sugar anymore. If I do want something sweet, my sweet tooth is satisfied by something naturally sweet like fruit, honey or syrup.
The minerals are the only thing I changed at that point, so I know they were the catalyst. I highly recommend them!

I tell myself daily that every good thing I do does count!!! Everyone needs to remember that. We spend a lot of time beating ourselves up for all of the “should haves” in our lives and feeling guilty. We need to give ourselves more standing ovations and celebrate our good choices more often! I saw something today that I like a lot…………”Good, Better, Best……Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!” Great job Kristin…………….that bright green and hot pink are great colors on you:)!!!

Ha, this was a fun moment. Kristin is a superstar human being. I just love her to pieces, especially moments like these when I see her realness. She inspires me to keep plugging along in my own journey as she never quits her own tough road and all its curve balls.
