At my lecture in Denver last month, a young mother of her first baby won the blender. I don’t think she was immersed in GSG culture–a total neophyte. I practically begged her to recognize the opportunity she has, to wean her baby onto perfect foods. Avoid the issues other kids in daycare centers, preschools, and elementary schools all over America have. ADHD, cancer, food allergies, asthma, obesity, sleep issues, and so many more. You don’t have to addict your child to sugar and chemicals, if you know better. One of our employees, the lovely Kami in Dallas, just got this letter from Robyn and Ryan Jensen, who sent this adorable photo of their son Zander. I guess sometimes a “green smoothie mustache” can take the form of a “green smoothie soul patch?” I hope this little story gives newbie moms hope that if you start young, kids DO NOT RESIST the green smoothie revolution! (Whole foods, no processed foods, few animal foods, and natural treatments for “life’s little emergencies!”)

I have been following Robyn for many years now.  I have a two-year old boy who doesn’t even know what it’s like to not have a green smoothie in his life. He is the healthiest boy I know his age.  All other kids are running around with runny noses and coughs.  Not my boy!  He is full of energy and life.  We recently just had another baby boy and we will be certain to follow the same steps with him.  I just want to say thank you to all of the people who are making the lives of my family and others so much better with your website and blogs.  Keep up the good work!  We love it.

    What this mother says is so true. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old who have always been on whole foods. My 3 year old begs me every day for more smoothie and can’t get enough of it. My older children do drink their smoothies, and generally don’t have a problem with it these days, but……it’s my kids who started from the beginning who really crave fresh, whole foods. Certainly, getting your family off junk food and onto whole food is possible, even with older kids (as I did with my older two children). But, it’s SO MUCH EASIER if you start them off right.
