When a natural supplement works better than a drug

By Robyn Openshaw, MSW | Apr 01, 2014

turmeric_inflammationIt’s not often that someone pays for research, and it gets published in the journals, showing that a natural supplement works better than a drug. (The natural supplement will almost always be much cheaper, too. And the drug always has toxic effects.) Check out this article about a published study showing that curcuminoids in turmeric, an Indian spice, are as effective or better at reducing inflammation than ibuprofen. (I buy turmeric extract for when I’ve run too many miles or played in a long tennis tournament.)

How much turmeric do you take Robyn? I take ibuprofen more than I’d like (three back surgeries) and have not heard of this alternative before. I am really enjoying your website and blog by the way. We bought a Vitamix machine and I ordered your green smoothie book too. Trying to break the cycle of bad diet.
