Even babies need raw food and green smoothies

By Robyn Openshaw, MSW | Sep 05, 2009

Check out these adorable 18-month old TRIPLET grandchildren of GSG reader Karen!   They were licking the inside of their cups to get every last drop of green goo goodness!   I love it!

  1. Speaking of babies and gs, I would love it if you did some posts from your own experience of pregnancy, infants, and nutrition. Sometimes it is hard to follow the same healthy diet for me being pregnant because I get grossed out so easily (and nauseous). So, any helps would be great!

Robyn, love the pic, a picture truly is worth a thousand words. Robyn, two things, one, could you please share a typical day for you i.e. food, exercise, sleep. etc. . . . . and the other thing , is ok to freeze romaine lettuce, swiss chard and spinach for smoothies??? THANKS!!!

Hm, I did post “a day in the life” blog entries a long time ago–what we eat in a typical day, several different entries. I’ll have Jenni find it and post those here.

I go to bed between 11 and 12 most nights and get up at about 6 a.m., help the kids get off to school.

At 8 a.m., I go for a 5-6 mile run, or I play tennis for a couple of hours, or I do yoga for an hour and maybe get on the Stairmaster for 30 mins. Twice a week I lift weights for an hour. I don’t think you HAVE to work out for such long periods of time (more than an hour, many days), but I just enjoy it and have a hard time stopping.

YES, freeze all those items for smoothies.
