Don’t be fast, cheap, easy, or fake!
“You Are What You Eat. So don’t be fast, cheap, easy, or fake.”
Isn’t it funny how those are some of the worst descriptors for human beings.
How would you feel if you heard one of your friends had described you to someone else as “cheap and fake?” You’d feel like you got punched in the stomach, right? YOU know you’re real—you feel a broad range of emotions, you try to be a good person, you’re authentic on every level.
And yet these are HIGHLY VALUED words for the fuel that becomes our every cell.
Mull this over today. Roll it around in your brain. As you make food choices, does it feel different in your psyche that as a culture, and as individuals, we’re looking for cheap, fast, easy, fake foods?
Thinking today, about the food we’ll eat tomorrow and the next day, is key. Plan and shop. Stock up on whole foods for your week. If we wait until 11:45 a.m. to think about what we’ll eat for lunch, we’re going to end up with..
Easy and fake.
Food used to be our early ancestors’ primary daily occupation. Finding it, preparing it.
Is food worth more than 2 minutes of your consideration, in any given day? Those with the fridges packed full of great stuff you saw on this blog? They thought about their food for the coming days, several days ago! Their health shows it.
Planning and care, and mindfulness, are key to an abundant life on all levels. (Finances. Relationships. Health. Good nutrition and self-care are part of addressing our health, and planning ahead helps a lot.)
Let’s choose not to be fast, easy, cheap or fake. Because we really do become what we eat.
