come on an amazing trip with us

By Robyn Openshaw, MSW | May 14, 2010

My youngest 3 kids and I are going on a American History / LDS Church History trip July 10-24. It will be unforgettable and we can’t wait! I have wanted to take my kids on a trip like this for many years but planning it was daunting.

All the details are taken care of–you just come along and enjoy. In addition to all the historical sites, we’re seeing Wicked in New York, river rafting, and going to the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Hershey factory, Ground Zero, and Niagara Falls. And we have a free night that I’ll probably teach a GS show in NYC. (Or you can catch another Broadway play.)

Please come with us!

This trip will likely appeal only to my LDS readers; the tour guides are INCREDIBLE seminary teachers who are friends of mine; they told me a few GSG readers are already signed up. The itinerary is AMAZING. Check this out, and if you can’t come, send your child. Erica, Kristy, my kids and I will make sure they have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, great prep for D&C studies next year in Seminary!

Learning of America’s Forefathers in the shadow of the Lincoln Memorial, discussing the Lord’s priesthood power on the banks of the Susquehanna River, reading the “voices from the dust” on the Hill Cumorah, and testifying of the Prophet Joseph at Carthage Jail. There is nothing quite like the “Spirit of Place” that we invite you to experience.

Come join us in July 2010 for an adventure in American and LDS Church History as we travel the path of those who have paved the way for our freedom and faith. You will understand for yourself what Elder M. Russell Ballard meant when he explained that a historic monument, done properly, can inspire visitors to “feel the fire of their predecessors in their bones.” With lessons taught from the scriptures at each site, your knowledge and testimony will increase and you will develop renewed appreciation for your own place in the Lord’s work.

Patriots & Pioneers is a perfect tour for the youth or the young at heart. Designed with teenage energy in mind, the trip is a fast-paced, fun-filled two week adventure! Everyone is welcome to come. (Past travelers have included participants from age 9 to 67!) Parents, families, teens, young adults – anyone may join us!

Space is limited and the tour is filling up fast! (Note: After May 22nd, the price will increase due to additional airline costs.)
