My former traditional dentist friend weighs in about MERCURY FILLINGS

Dear readers, it’s been a while since I posted on my research about the exciting, burgeoning field of “biological dentistry.” A couple of years ago I wrote fairly extensively about my own dental saga (thanks to the first 30 years of my life eating a LOT of sugar, and doing lots of toxic dental work […]

Recovering from oral surgery….part 3 of 3

I am more committed now than ever, to good nutrition. I want to keep my teeth healthy! I don’t want to face more dental decay. We live longer than people did back when infectious disease and dreadful working conditions were rampant. And we’re vain as a culture. So we have to have beautiful, straight, white […]

Comments from another dentist, Kristi……part 7 of 7

A reader and dentist, Kristi, shared these observations after my root canal post. I have paraphrased some of her comments for length: “ I have much respect for Robyn and her goals of sharing important life saving information with all of you. Her willingness to stand up for what she believes in is admirable. I […]

Dental practices Intentional Replantation, Apicoectomy, and Root Canal….part 3 of 7

Thanks to GSG reader Sheryl, whose husband is a dentist, for suggesting I research Intentional Replantation. It has been practiced for 1,000 years, and it is not difficult for dentists, although very few do it or even think to do it. It involves treating the tooth outside the mouth and re-implanting it, and the dental […]

More on mercury amalgam and other dental controversies….dentists weighing in….part 2 of 7

I got back last week from my Northern Cali speaking tour and went right to Dr. Ulm’s office right here in Lindon, Utah. He’s the first dentist in Utah accredited with the IAOMT (Intl Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology). Accreditation requires a rigorous examination of mercury-safe practices and demonstrated knowledge of materials, toxicity, fluoride, […]

More on mercury amalgam and other dentistry controversies…dentists weighing in….part 1 of 7

I need to revisit the dental issues, as we’ve had a ton of email about it. What to do instead of a root canal, you’re asking? It’s a very good question that I have, too. I interviewed Dr. Ulm’s office in Lindon, whom I will talk about in a minute. They told me Dr. Judson […]

amalgam fillings—friend or foe?

I never thought twice about letting the dentist pack mercury into my teeth. Then, with that mercury “safely” packed into my cranium, I cracked ice with my teeth relentlessly for many years. Ten years ago I learned about the importance of getting the mercury OUT of my mouth, and I had my totally traditional dentist […]

A FISH STORY: the food, and the oil supplements

The debate over fish, and fish oil, is to me one of the most interesting ones in nutrition in its complexity. We have to ferret out, from the debate, the sophisticated marketing of the fish industry, which capitalized on emerging data 15 years ago that red meat is bad for us. (But fish is good […]

FDA finally admits fillings containing mercury may be harmful

In my local paper June 11, local dentist Michelle Jorgenson, who quit using amalgam fillings 10 years ago, is “vindicated.”   That’s because, due to the settlement of a class action lawsuit, the FDA’s site now says, “Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have nerotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses.” […]

Fish, and taking fish-oil pills

For you fish eaters, the U.S. FDA stated in 2001 that fish with the highest mercury levels are tilefish, swordfish, mackerel, shark, white snapper, and tuna.   The lowest levels are found in salmon, flounder, sole, tilapia, and trout (though these fish are high in other toxins, in some waters). If you’re eating fish-oil pills […]
