Keep sunflower seeds for years in the freezer. They sprout easily when soaked and drained. Soak them in a jar for one to two days, drain and rinse twice a day. Nutrition is maximized when the end of the seed just barely begins to grow a tail. Refrigerate sprouted seeds immediately so growth slows and they are usable for a week.
I fill a pint jar half full of sunflower seeds about once a week. I drain it after letting it soak overnight. I add a large spoonful to each bowl of my children’s granola to provide live enzymes and spectacular nutrition.
