A story about Marlena in Redding

blendtecThe folks at Blendtec are a blessing to me, and to lots of others, too. They give me a $435 blender to give to one lucky attendee at each of my classes. Once, to an audience of 400 in Dallas, I said:

“This amazing machine is a game-changer for your health. I really wish I could give one to ALL of you!” A lady on the back row yelled out, with her Southern drawl:

Well, I’m not Oprah. But I love having one shiny, new giveaway blender at every class. Thank you, Blendtec! Check out Marlena’s story. She came up to me after class and told me her 3-year old daughter was at home, very ill, on her fourth course of Prednisone in three months.

She’d just heard the story of my son’s desperately ill first 15 months of life as a stunted-growth, Failure to Thrive baby on constant steroids and bronchodilators. And the miracle that occurred when we eliminated milk, sugar, white flour, and other processed junk. The story culminates in my son leading the state of Utah in RBI’s his Senior year, and leading his team to State in baseball as the MVP of the team, hitting two grand slams, and pitching a 5-inning near-shutout (12-1) in the finals. He’s 6’4”.

Marlena hadn’t even wanted to come. She wasn’t interested in the message. She just knew I was giving away a Total Blender, plus she knew our longtime reader, Pam Opdyke, would be so disappointed if she didn’t show. Check out Marlena’s story here:

What to do about my “cloudy” blender jar

Dear GreenSmoothieGirl: I love my Vitamix / Blendtec, but the jar gets cloudy. What do I do?

Answer: This is what BlendTec customer service says:

1.  Juice of 1 lemon, 2-3 Tbsp of baking soda, and some water. Then, run to speed ten and scrub with non-scratch sponge.

2. Vinegar mixed with baking soda (and water) will also work, OR 1-2 Tbsp powdered dishwasher detergent dissolved in 1-2 cups hot water that is left to soak for 1 hour.

3. To get “smells” out, just grinding up a lemon works like it does for your garbage disposal.

My favorite new accessory—makes blending thick stuff a breeze!

Blendtec’s stock with me just went through the roof!

I’ve just received the coolest accessory I’ve ever seen. A raw-foodist’s dream!  I knew you’d want to know about it, if you have a Blendtec Total Blender or are getting one soon.

Look at my video demo making my fabulous (no dairy, no sugar, no guilt) Butter Pecan Ice Cream, showing how you NEVER waste food, you never have to burn out a motor, get food all over your arm, or struggle with a spatula because of Blendtec’s engineering marvel THE TWISTER.

It makes thick nut butters, raw pie crusts, pastes, baby food, sauces, frostings, pates, candies, ice creams, and so much more, instantly, with no drama. The thick stuff used to be the recipes I hated to make, even though they are needed to serve anything truly gourmet. But no more!

It’s a short, small blender jar. As the blade in the jar spins, a sharp tine spins the opposite direction in the jar, scraping the food off the inside of the jar and down to the bottom. The “Spectacula” spatula gets all the food out of the bottom of the jar, with nothing lost and no mess.

I’ve been waiting for them to release this exciting accessory since I beta tested it for Blendtec last year and said HOW FAST CAN I GET THEM?? We’ve had it in stock but they wouldn’t let me announce until June 1!

It’s brilliant, and you’ve got to have this in your kitchen. I think you’ll be in love with it like I am!

Oh, and in the video, I’m showing you my really delicious Butter Pecan Ice Cream recipe. You’ll get that recipe, free, with a Twister purchase.

What can I do about pesticides? If you missed the webinar…..

Did you miss our webinar about how to get all the pesticides and herbicides off all your greens, veggies, fruit, and even MEAT if you eat it? (We’ve got over 160 chemicals sprayed on our food these days, and water/veg soap or even bleach removes only about 60%.)

This solution uses no chemicals. It’s inexpensive and easy.

It’s so brilliant. I’ve known about ozonation for years. I understand it as a way of cleaning the atmosphere, a way of cleaning your carpets, and more. It has many industrial applications.

But how exciting that it’s been miniaturized! I love mine—it’s giving me peace of mind, especially with my soft-skin fruit when I cannot get it organic.

Now all we need is a giant zapper to eliminate the most evil corporation on the planet: Monsanto. (They’re now breeding Roundup right into the seeds. Some fruits have pesticides INSIDE the fruit. I will be finding the best ways for us to get involved to stop the GMO, seed-monopolies, and pesticide-excess madness and keeping you apprised.)

Anyway, in addition to getting rid of all the external chemicals, it kills all viruses and bacteria, too, including e Coli! And you can ozonate water to be a very effective cleaner of pretty much any surface in your home (and also the carpet, upholstery).

Here’s my mini-report on it (this report has been removed because it is outdated), with a link to the webinar we did with the founder, Steve Hengsperger, so you can learn about it quickly and easily. Especially check out the photos of how fruit lasts up to 4x longer when you treat it in the ozonation.

Enjoy! I have mine in my kitchen the past couple of months and I love the peace of mind it’s given me, eating a plant-based diet that does utilize some conventional (non-organic) produce. Very exciting–possibly the best thing I’ve found in the 4 years since I put the GSG site up. (Thanks to reader Donna H. in California who traveled several hours to my class, partly so she could tell me about this invention.)

And Steve, the founder, gave us a deal that gives you $61 of discounts and freebies—while our stock lasts. Definitely check out what he has to say in the webinar we recorded you can click on in this report (webinar no longer accessible on our site), lots of great info, only 25 minutes.

Note: we no longer sell the Lotus Sanitizer in our store.

Effects of alkaline water for a GSG reader

Jenni forwarded me this email from GSG reader Linda who participated in one of our ionizer group buys. Jenni is my customer support lead, a GSG reader I met at Costco 2 years ago. She is thinking about getting a machine in her home in the current group buy, so I think she asked Linda, as she was corresponding with her, what her experience has been.

We get the ionizers for about 40% off by leveraging our group buying power. That’s about 60% off what you’d pay for the Enagic (Kangen) machine that is multi-level marketed. We are doing one right now, so write craig@greensmoothiegirl.com for the price sheet and details. Here are my mini-reports on the benefits of alkaline water. And here is Linda’s experience with her ionizer:

“I just wish I had some good before and after pictures for the full effect.

I’ve had many changes since starting to drink the ionized water, but I can’t tell you how dramatically my skin and complexion has improved. I have rosacea that has almost completely healed, and have had MANY people comment on how clear and plump my skin looks.

Other benefits I’ve gained since  drinking alkaline water are weight loss (16 pounds to date), improved digestion and elimination, and I used to getting very tired and weak in the afternoon at work and that has not occurred since bringing the water with me to work and drinking it there.

I use the acid water as a mouth wash, and my dental hygienist told me several weeks ago that the tartar build up on my teeth was much less now from 6 months ago. The acid water has also brought a few of my dead house plants totally back to life.

I had a live blood analysis done last fall and will be repeating it again this fall, I’ll be anxious to see what effect drinking alkaline water has done for me on a cellular level. I’ll let you know when I find out!

Thanks again for your help – I am glad to help my aunt get a unit for her family.”

another reason to eat plant foods

Last night I went to dinner at a friend’s house. She is getting married this week and had a house packed full of her large family and his. So I was “helping” by making gravy. We put the boiling roast drippings in the BlendTec, I added cornstarch, pressed the lid on, and pushed the button . . .

Suddenly the scalding hot contents were flying out all over the kitchen, drenching both my arms. I was wearing long sleeves, so I couldn’t quickly wash it off my arms.

Long story short, my forearms were badly burned. Covered with blisters this morning despite hours of ice followed by fresh aloe vera from my plant, when I got home.

Just another (really obscure) reason to drink green food. Instead of animal products. My green smoothies have never hurt me.

That said, you haven’t been “initiated” as a GSG until you’ve had a blenderful blow up. (Has this happened to you yet? You can find dried green blobs even months later–ceiling, cabinets, all kinds of fun places.)

Important tip: press the lid on, very well, all the way around!
