The Reasons For Skin Brushing Are More Than Skin Deep!
Always wanted to know how and why to skin brush?
I’m excited to share with you, on this short video, why skin brushing should be an important part of your health and beauty routine, and exactly how to do it.
Then I’ve got a great gift for you: a printable illustrated skin brushing chart with all the instructions!
Dry skin brushing is pretty much exactly how it sounds: using a brush (in this case, a long-handled brush with stiff natural bristles) on the dry skin. The visible benefits are obvious: sloughing off millions of dead skin cells are going to make your skin glowy, tighter, and encourage cell renewal.
And obviously, clearing away all those dead cells will open up your pores, allowing the skin to breathe and detoxify more efficiently–after all, it’s the largest detoxification organ you have!
But the most important reason to skin brush is not so obvious: it stimulates the lymphatic system of the body, which is your circulatory system’s waste removal plant, and a key part of your body’s ability to detoxify, heal injuries, and prevent disease.
If the BLOOD brings in the groceries, the LYMPH takes out the trash! Its function is so important, you have about twice as much lymph as blood in your body, supporting your immune, digestive, nervous, and detoxification systems.
But unlike the blood, lymph doesn’t have a pump to move it around to do its job. It moves in the body slowly, through a series of valves, gathering and eliminating toxins along the way.
Sluggish or clogged lymph leads to a variety of conditions, from cellulite (yes, cellulite!) to low energy to infections to cancer.
The Method Matters!
Lymph travels close to the skin, and stimulating the skin helps keep that lymph moving. But because lymph travels in specific directions due to its valve system, the order and direction of brushing the skin is not just important–it’s crucial.
Don’t start brushing, then, until you know how! We’re here to help, with a free demo and instructions you can print. We’ll show you how to follow the lymphatic pathways, in the right direction.
Skin brushing should be done on dry skin, preferably right before a shower, and will give you a great burst of energy besides all the beauty and health benefits I mentioned.
And about that cellulite? Because cellulite is just toxins held by your fat cells and connective tissue, right under the subcutaneous level of your skin, breaking it up with skin brushing and encouraging lymphatic detoxification can release cellulite from its job and decrease it!
