“It’s Never Just One Thing”—On How I Became PAIN FREE

Culminating several short videos on things I’ve done to get rid of my back pain, I hope this is a great summary for you. Back pain is NO FUN. I lived with it for DECADES of my life. Until this PAST decade! I hope my ideas, the things that have helped me, are helpful to you!

  1. Hi Robin, My beautiful, healthy daughter was born 23 years ago with forceps help. Only about 5 minutes though. Left a mark on her cheek that’s visible now in certain lighting, but no chronic back pain that I know about. She does have some small issue of scoliosis but so do I, and I don’t know if I was born with forceps (in 1955).
We don’t hear a lot over here in France about forceps issues, but I think I’ll check it out on internet.
Just FYI, my son was born in a clinic (not a hospital like my daughter was) 2-1/2 years later, was bigger by about a pound and no forceps. But they did snap his little clavicle bone to get him out. It healed quickly and nicely as the doctor said it would. Apparently newborns’ bones are still very malleable and soft.

    1. Alysen, thanks for sharing your experiences with us. We hope Robyn’s video series on back pain help relieve some of the side effects these experiences have caused in the lives of you and your children.

    2. Alysen, wow. Thank you for sharing. I was pulled out with forceps because they thought I was 4 weeks overdue. Turned out, they miscalculated. (I was barely 7 pounds and my mother had 7 more babies after me who were 2 weeks overdue. I was, in fact, not ready to come for another couple weeks.) Medicine has been too interventionist for a while now.
