I flew to Atlanta on a Thursday, recently, for a 4-city tour ending in Raleigh, North Carolina just over 48 hours later. One of the most intense speaking tours I’ve ever done. I took Coach Judi with me, and I heard her telling someone on Saturday night, “We’ve had only one meal since Thursday.”
And I realized it was TRUE. We got this steamed and sautéed potatoes and veggies in a BBQ place in the Atlanta airport, believe it or not–more snack than meal. And along with our gallon of green smoothie we toted around and sipped on, we had snacks we brought from home, and once, a bean burrito with our smoothies and bananas snatched from continental breakfasts.
We had just ONE box of salad from Whole Foods Market salad bar. Even that, we snarfed in the car while we drove. That was the one thing she classified as a meal.
I think we slept about 4 hours each night, too. No time! We got up at 5 a.m. to fly to Atlanta, and 4 a.m. to fly back home.
Poor Judi. I’m fine, but I’m not sure she’ll ever agree to travel with me again.
You know how I always call green smoothies “10 Minutes a Day That’ll Change Your Nutrition Forever?” I thought I’d share with you the green smoothie recipe Judi told me took SIX MINUTES before we took off from the airport, and it had NO FRUIT. She said it was delicious!
Coach Judi’s Delicious Six-Minute No-Fruit Green Smoothie
2 cups water
Chard, parsley, and red lettuce from the garden
1 scoop GreenSmoothieGirl Green Light
1 scoop GreenSmoothieGirl chocolate protein powder
Blend all in the blender until smooth. Enjoy!
