Why Amanda has such pretty skin
Amanda, my event manager, has beautiful skin. She is in her 30′s and looks in her 20′s. Whatever she is doing for her skin, we want to do, right? Here are some tips she sent me:
I add drops of essential oil to my coconut oil, and mix in a small container. That way, when I rub it all over my skin daily, I’m getting the benefits of essential oils and coconut oil.
[Robyn says: antimicrobial, anti fungal, antiviral! Medium chain fatty acids you must obtain for neurological health, absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream! Fabulous!]
Amanda continues: I usually add Balance to my coconut oil and apply it like lotion after I get out of the shower.
I’ve also done this trick and love it for my face:
Mix 1.5 cups of coconut oil with 1 Tbsp. of olive oil, and add 9-12 drops of different essential oils, anything you like. Keep in a waterproof container in the shower.
While showering take a teaspoon of this mixture and massage on face. Then get a washcloth really hot and lay it over your face. Don’t rub. Repeat twice more with the hot washcloth so your pores are really open. Let the washcloth cool on your face and wipe off. It removes the toxins from your skin. Awesome.

Hello from Virginia! I have been drinking green smoothies for the past several weeks, and can definitely feel the difference.
Question: what is your opinion about using coconut milk or almond milk instead of water in the smoothies? Thanks!
Martha, I prefer using rejuvelac for live-food probiotics, as the base of the smoothie. Great way to support gastrointestinal health. See Step 8 of 12 Steps to Whole Foods, and I did a YouTube video on my channel showing it, too. If you want to gain weight / increase calories in your green smoothie, or feel that MCFA’s are missing from your diet, coconut milk would be good, and would taste beautiful too. If you’re not getting nuts in your diet, almond milk would be good (soak TRULY RAW almonds from our group buy, and make your own, for a live, high-nutrition version).
Love this! Is there any way to get some more specifics for what oils she uses and how much?
Kristi, ask her! amanda@greensmoothiegirl.com
Will do!
I agree with this post Robyn……..I think about how beautiful Amanda’s skin is everytime I am with her. Her teeth are incredibly white too and she uses coconut oil and On Guard essential oil as her tooth paste and you should see her smile………….brilliant!!! She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!!!
Robyn, is there any way that you could do a post where you “rank” the different cancer clinics that you would recommend and what they are best as treating, I know that you have been to many different ones but that information is scattered in a lot of different posts. It would be helpful to see one post and which ones are your top favorites. Thank you.
Lee, that is outside the scope of this site, where I report only generally and briefly on my cancer research. But yes, I am building an extensive comparison chart of all the clinics I’ve visited, for my book and site on Nontoxic Cancer Treatment.
Hey Robyn and Amanda, thanks for the recipe. I have been using coconut oil mixed with a little bit of my own homemade calendula oil in an almond oil base and a few drops of Eye of the Storm. Yesterday I got my hair trimmed and the girl kept commenting on my “nice skin.” I felt pretty good!
I know this sounds funny, but can you put regular coconut oil on your skin that you can cook with too? I am new to all of this but would love to use this as a moisturizer! THanks
Can I do this skin detox while nursing? Can I do any detox while nursing? I am very dedicated to nursing my children and do so for as long as I can. I just had a baby in November and I have been wanting to do some sort of detox for over a year. I have read many cautions to doing any sort because of the chance the toxins will get into my milk. This skin detox seems really gentle and I wonder if it might work for me. Also, I know you juice and recommend that for detox. Is that gentle enough? I will wait if I have to but waiting an additional year or more is killing me!
