Treatments and testing at Oasis Irvine….part 5 of 7

Intravenous Vita C: A massive dose of Intravenous Vita C is a natural chemotherapeutic agent as well as having many other helpful advantages to an immune-compromised patient. In combination with hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT), it can be very powerful and completely nontoxic—good for the good cells, bad for the bad cells. Dr. Hugh Riordan documented how chronically ill patients, and cancer patients, had very low vitamin C reserves. Both cancer cells, and chemotherapy drugs, gobble up vita C.

The NIH’s Dr. Mark Levine published research on how vitamin C in large amounts behaves as a pro-oxidant, interacting with copper and iron. This interaction creates hydrogen peroxide that is harmless to good cells but lethal to cancer cells. The exciting part of the metabolic process is that cancer cells grab vitamin C because they mistake it for their food, glucose, since it is molecularly similar. (Normal cells have 2 glucose receptors, and cancer cells have 43.) And in Irvine, they administer the megadoses of C with Pentoxifyline (an oxygen transporter) to produce high levels of hydrogen peroxide.

Ron Hunninghake, M.D., writes that IV Vita C boosts immunity, stimulates collagen formation to help the body wall off the tumor, and inhibits an enzyme that tumors use in metastasis to other parts of the body. It induces apoptosis to program cancer cells into dying early. It corrects scurvy, which is a universal deficiency in chemo patients that doctors rarely recognize. (Scurvy causes fatigue, listlessness, bruising, poor appetite, sleeplessness, and low pain threshold.) And IV Vita C does not decrease the efficacy of chemo.

That said, practitioners have told me that they’ve seen remarkable results with IV Vita C, and also they have seen patients who do not seem to respond to it.

Infrared sauna: If you’re paying close attention, you have you noticed this is at EVERY clinic I visit! It must be important! (Also relatively inexpensive for a clinic, but even for an individual.) In 30 minutes of profuse, induced sweating, with infrared rays stimulating cells up to 2″ deep below the skin, you are releasing impressive amounts of toxic chemicals and metals every day you use the sauna. And with this “induced fever,” you are also stimulating and mobilizing immune cells throughout the body in various organs.

Note that on Dec. 20, I wrote on this blog about the group buys we will be doing on infrared sauna to save you a bunch of money on the best brand on the market, if you have about 50″ – 70″ along a wall to put it in your house / garage / back porch.

Light Beam Generator Lymphatic Therapy: The lymph system is a critically important circulatory system that most medical doctors ignore, far more extensive than the blood system, with over 600 collection sites or “nodes.” Studies show that up to 10 times as much viral matter resides in the lymph system than the blood! And many sedentary people eating the S.A.D. have a swampy, sluggish, acidic lymphatic system in desperate need of stimulation and cleanup.

The light-beam generator focuses on the nexuses of the lymph system, in the neck, under the arms, and the groin. The technology uses very low-current and negatively charged light photons for rapid, safe, natural movement of lymph to aid the body in waste disposal. Anything inflammation-related would benefit from this treatment. Other manual lymphatic drainage and stimulation is helpful to cancer patients as well as part of a detoxification strategy, with skin brushing and infrared sauna, massage, and other lymphatic therapies such as Brandi Owens uses at An Oasis of Healing in Mesa.

Acupuncture: Oncology patients experience a tremendous amount of nausea mostly due to chemotherapy, and acupuncture is well documented to reduce nausea and vomiting. It also helps with pain relief, by opening the flow of energy or “chi” throughout the body’s pathways.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy: Administered by acupuncturist Dr. Martin Bales, this non-invasive technology re-energizes damaged cells by inducing electrical changes within the cell that restore it to its healthy state. It decreases stress, inflammation, stiffness, bruises. It increases bone density, lean muscle mass, flexibility, strength, endurance, immune function, nerve and muscle responses, and circulation.

Breast Thermography: When my mother went on a mission to Italy for her church, she refused mammography. She’d studied how the radiation is high, which causes breast cancer, and some theorize that smashing a tumor in the breast may cause it to spread. She finally negotiated the ability to use thermography, which is painless, non-invasive, radiation-free.

It’s safe for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and women with implants. And very importantly, it’s the breast-cancer diagnostic tool available to women 25 to 39 years old. The high-res, ultrasensitive infrared camera detects minute changes in vascular tissue, allowing you to find breast disease years before other imaging modalities.

You can find this technology in many areas of the country now, although the high-profit mammography industry still controls the breast-cancer screening industry. (I hope to have a resource for this and many other holistic practitioners and exciting non-invasive screening practices, on GSG in the future.)

Hi Robyn: I do not know if anyone does breast thermography in our city but when visiting an M.D. last year I asked if breast thermography was a good option instead of getting a mammogram and she basically said that mammography is the best thing out there (gets the best results). Is this true or would you say they are comparable?

  2. Hi Robyn!

I am a frequent reader of your blog and have been especially interested in this series! I am a holistic cancer survivor, delaying chemo and radiation to pursue alternative methods first. My intense diet change consisting of mostly raw foods and several other holistic anti-cancer protocols, put me in remission within 8 months of my diagnosis. My anti-cancer protocol was greatly helped by my green smoothies, and although therapeutic green smoothies for cancer treatment are definitely not as tasty as yours, they were very effective for ridding my body of cancer and adding variation to salads.

Thank you for this series and for your influence in changing people’s lives. You have inspired me to realize that it is possible to teach people about true health and healing as a career. I document my cancer story and have written several series on holistic and alternative cancer treatment on my blog, http://www.greendrinkdiaries.com. A series I wrote recently actually included alternative breast cancer survivors who were treated at Oasis of Hope Hospital.

Thank you for all you do!

    Cortney (:
