K’Lynne Loses 100 Pounds Eating Whole Foods!

K'Lynne before whole foodsK'Lynne after whole foodsK’Lynne Wagner has lost 100 POUNDS doing my 12 Steps to Whole Foods program for over a year. Check out her amazing photos! She came onto my radar when she had so many people flocking to her, wanting to know what she’d done, that she negotiated a dealer discount on 12 Steps kits with us, and started having GSG meetings at her home every month.

She stood up and told her story in Portland, and the audience gasped at the number 100! They demanded info, so I interviewed her:

GSG:   Did you count calories?

K’Lynne: No.

GSG:   Did you feel deprived?alt=

K’Lynne: No.

GSG:   Did you eat yummy food?

K’Lynne: Yes.

On her blog, she calls herself “a woman of few words except if it’s about something I’m passionate about.” In answer to audience questions, she told us that she had lost weight with diets before, but this time she obtained health in addition to weight loss, as well as a way of life that makes sense—and the weight came off, and stayed off, as a byproduct of learning healthy habits.

Though she is shy and quiet (see her blog about gathering the courage to talk to me in Portland), she had a carload of friends with her who left at 5:45 a.m. for the 4.5-hour drive from Ashland. The whole audience was absolutely inspired. Until she got their shocked and delighted reaction, she told me later, “It had not really occurred to me what losing 100 lbs. meant. I just knew how wonderful it was to look in the mirror and see ‘me’ and know that I was on the right path that would allow me to stay this way forever.” K’Lynne told me she does ALL of the 12 Steps. Her blog says, “I grind my own flour with all kinds of grains I never knew existed…I love it, I can’t get enough of it, it is so exciting to me and I feel very empowered with all this knowledge.” Her husband Chuck is getting into good nutrition, too.

She emailed me later that she takes salads and dressings for lunch to work, and her whole office now brings salads. At church, people say to her, “I’m getting my blender this week!” A good friend who had breast cancer called K’Lynne one day because she was frustrated that her doctors said, “Just watch for changes,” rather than giving her meaningful prevention strategy. K’Lynne’s friend said, “Whatever you’re doing, I want to know more.” This friend is now healthy, following 12 Steps, and ecstatically sharing it with others, too.

K’Lynne said to me, “I love sharing because I am so passionate about eating healthy and it all just makes so much sense. I feel like I’ve been asleep and now I am awake, full of life, and look forward to a long, happy, healthy life!”

I’m thankful to her for sharing her story, her photos, and her spirit with us. She is a beautiful woman inside and out who doesn’t keep her growth and knowledge to herself! Check out her blog HERE. She’ll give you a great deal on the 12 Steps course she won in the raffle, and if you’re in Ashland, you can join her 12 Steppers’ group!

What brand of Iodine do you recommend?

    Hey, Robin.

Thanks for K’Lynne’s story…lots of great motivation. I just moved to the NW from Utah and have attended a few of your classes in Ogden…but was sorry to miss you when you came here.

I have a couple of questions.

    1. My family has been doing green smoothies for a couple of years and we are SLOWLY working on getting the other steps incorporated. I tried making rejuvelac, but found that my quinoa didn’t sprout…or at least not like I expected. I primarly sprout alfalfa and mung beans and the quinoa never really got any little tails. Was it bad, or was I expecting too much of it?

    2. I have been making kefir for a number of months. I use pasteurized cow milk which I know is not the best. I have tried to put the kefir grains into coconut milk and rice milk, but nothing seems to happen (I don’t get the whey separation and ‘curdling’ like I do with cow milk). Am I doing something wrong, or are the properties just different?

  3. I have seen amazing results by eating raw as well. I am a Type 1 diabetic and have had it for 17 years. I am trying something new right now to control my bloodsugars better. I am doing one of those 60 day juice fasts where I only eat raw fruits and veggies that are blended (not so much a juice fast). I have seen AMAZING results on my bloodsugars and have seen an overall decrease in my insulin usage by 60%! Now those are results! I would invite any diabetic or non-diabetic out there to try it for at least 10 days and see the results for themselves. For some ideas on how you can do it yourself, just follow me on my website http://www.imjuicing.com. Good luck with your healthy living!

  4. Robyn, you did mention going and getting blood work done while you were here in Nampa and I spoke with you (I’m one of your test planner testers). I have struggled with hypothryoidism for about 17 years now. Been on medication since then (synthroid – yuck). I can honestly say that I have been very unhealthy since my 20s but have discovered that health is achievable. My family, as I told you, has not met the family deductible for our medical for the first time in years. Wooo, wooo, wahoo! It is freeing to go from being strapped to medications (excluding thyroid) to being free of them. Amazing. Now if I can shake some of this weight I would be better off. Slowly and surely. Have an awesome day! PS. I’ve been drinking beet juice for breakfast some mornings. ME! drinking that! Wouldn’t have happened a year ago.

I know K’Lynne personally. It has been so amazing to see not only the physical change she has gone through, but to also see her confidence and self worth grow. She shines now. No more hiding that light, it can’t be contained now. So proud of you!

  6. Wow! What an inspiring story! I agree that diets don’t work. Making health a part of your lifestyle is key to losing weight and keeping it off!

Radically reducing the use of chemicals in personal care and cleaning.

  7. What an inspirational story! Most people find it hard to stick to the same diet after they have lost a considerable amount of weight. Perhaps because you just feel encouraged and decide to add some variation to the diet. Will she continue to live by this same diet and will she continue to lose weight or will she start adapting her diet once she reaches the desired weight? I am very interested in finding out how to maintain a desired weight, once you have achieved it. I believe it is a harder thing to do than just shaking off extra pounds.

  8. Add Maca to your smoothies for hormonal imbalance.

Last week I asked for a referral to bioidentical hormone therapy in Utah county. but I don’t know where or when the answer will appear…I know you all are VERY busy. I just wasn’t sure where to look. Thanks…gotta run and make my breakfast smoothie =)
