How My Grama Beat Stage 3 Cancer

Robyn Openshaw - Dec 12, 2010 - This Post May Contain Affiliate Links

Some of you know my story. Its beginnings were watching my grandmother say “no thanks” to chemo/radiation and choose something else, in 1980. Check out what I told SunWarrior about that in my hotel room in Las Vegas recently.

(Misspellings in the video are not mine.)

Robyn, these videos were fascinating to me!! They raise a question in my mind about your Grandmother healing herself with foods that I would like to ask this…. Did she have a mentor or someone who walked her through the healing/natural treatment process? So few would have been coaching this way in the 1980’s.

Mel, I wish I knew that. And my grandmother is no longer with us so I can’t ask her. I do not remember her having a mentor, except for experts/authors like Ann Wigmore.

Fascinating, Thank you for sharing your family stories.

One round of steroids during my last pregnancy caused Posterior Subcapsular Cataracts in both eyes. I also was taking Zofran, and phenergan. This drug combo devastated my health. That was 6 years ago and it’s been an uphill battle to regain my health, and finally because of green juices and smoothies I can say I feel Awesome!!! Thanks Robyn for all you do.

  3. Maybe a clue to your question Mel, is that Richard Simmons was a very popular TV personality during the previous decade who hosted an exercise show that encouraged people to ‘juice’ and drink lots of veggies- – -I know of women who bought the juicers and drank tons of carrot juice. Don’t know if he was still around on the TV in the 80’s- – -but I know of women who ‘juiced’ for many years trying to heal various ailments. He definitely was ahead of his times.

I have been a vegetarian for so many years I cant count them. But

my family women have a breast cancer gene. You cant beat that, it does not

matter what you do, its in the blood. I have lived through 2 breast tumors which had not spread. That was perhaps God ´s gift to me. I dont know.

We cant eat healthily anymore unless the food is being grown under anti

chemtrail situations and being watered with pure water without any fluoride.

I wish you would address these issues and tell your ” followers” where you

get the perfect clean wonderful veg you use for your smoothies. I do not mean to be rude, I just would like to know how you do it.

Ayna, I will address your question and comment here on the blog. Watch for that. (Sometimes it takes me a while, as I have a backlog of content and sometimes I have topics planned a ways out….)

Possibly Dr. Gerson? I know his Gerson therapy has been around for quiet a while… Norman Walker? He was around then…. Plant Based Nutrition Therapy has been around for a while :o)

Robyn, When you talked about your son’s asthma issues when he was younger, I thought of my daughter. He had asthma when she was two years old also, in and out of doctor’s offices, steriods, inhalers. At one point she had 5 different medications at on time. I thought they worked at first, and that is all I knew then to do. Then they stopped working and she got worse, the doctors wanted more test.

Then I decided to regulate her asthma with whole foods and herbs. She is doing much better. She is much younger than you son, she is eight. It is good to know that they can play sports, grow normally, and have a great childhood. That there is another way, I am so thankful to know these things. Thank you

Robyn, Hi, just wanted to chime in and tell you that my second cousin was diagnosed with Leukemia at least 30 years ago and beat the disease by eliminating sugar and eating a plant based diet. He was years ahead – as your grandmother was- when it came to using food as medicine.

Also, as a side note, I live in Peru. Don’t you do volunteer work here? I’m in Lima so if you are ever in our neck of the woods we’d love to have you over!

Robyn – how much longer after curing her cancer did your grandmother live ?

    1. Robyn Openshaw says:

      Robert, 25 years!!

My grandmother was VERY pure about her diet for 18 months or so. Then she ate a very healthy diet for quite a few years (probably 80% raw, roughly–it’s been quite a few years and I was just observing). At the end of that 25 years, I remember her and my grandfather eating ice cream cones, stuff like that. They weren’t eating the S.A.D. because they had good habits from those beat-the-cancer days–but they also indulged, towards the end. Cancer took both of them but they were nearing 80 and they did not choose a very pure diet as they had in their 50’s.

    Hi Robyn,

Thank you so much for sharing this important & living example!

    Marlene

  11. I wonder what made your Grandmother decide to follow a raw food diet?

I cannot understand how many mainstream doctors tell their cancer patients that diet does not make any difference. Do they just ignore the evidence?

    Sandy
