here are a few things I have from the group buy
Hi, just back from watching soccer and hiking in St. George, and I picked up the big mis-delivered order from Las Vegas as promised, those of you waitlisted whom I told I would get you the almonds, dates, shredded coconut, and cashews.
By the way, we stayed in the most FABULOUS suite, GREAT price, too, in historic downtown:
www.thompsonmansion.com (prices were half what is shown on the website). I highly recommend it to anyone who visits St. George! Big, beautifully decorated, personal service, family owned. And a kitchenette with refrigerator for my cooler full of green smoothies I always travel with!
Turns out I also have
2 boxes chia seed ($117.50 for 25#)
1 box raw pumpkin seeds ($87.45 for 27.5#)
1 box raw sunflower seeds ($40.50 for 25#)
3 gal. coconut oil ($125 for 3 separate gallons)
1 box organic flaxseed ($41 for 25#)
First come, first served–if you want any of this, write me at robyn@oppublishing.net.
Oh, and thanks for all the birthday wishes on Facebook–loved seeing those on my blackberry while I was gone, so kind of y’all!
Darn! I wish I would had realized how soon you would be making that Vegas trip. I am in St. George and some friends and I are needing more coconut oil. Maybe next time I will use my brain!!!
Well, we don’t have the group buy going on anymore, but this is the link to my report on coconut oil and at the bottom is a banner ad for a great company with a great price on organic, cold-pressed coconut oil:

Hey there quick question; what would you recommend as a natural cure for heart-burn?
I was watching your latest video on youtube and was interested to hear that flax oil can help in absorbing minerals, you mentioned it may be beneficial for women losing their hair (which I am) so I am going to try this….
then reading your homepage today I noticed you mentioned you have a weave? really?! could have fooled me. lol! Anyway, I was just wondering – all your healthy eating and you need a weave? Then maybe trying this “green” eating isn’t going to help my dry, falling hair. sigh. Well love your videos, keep them coming!
Tammy, a weave is color. I don’t “need” it and don’t have grey hair. I just like more BLONDE and I’m not above doing it, though permanent dyes cause cancer. Weaves you can keep away from your scalp more.
I’m interested in a gallon of coconut oil, is there still one available? What about any almonds? Thanks!
I wanted to know if you could let me know for our co-op here in florida your almond source from Spain that you use? We have raw almonds for, like you said, $8 a lb and it would be great if we could use the same source to get them at a more reasonable price. Blessings- Amy
Hey Time,
I know lots of people have had excellent results w/ 1 Tbsp of chia. Since it turns into gel, if you just eat the seeds, they’ll absorb the acid.
Uhh, I meant Tim. Sorry, can’t type today!
I wanted to comment about my use of the coconut oil. I have been using it regularly as a moisturizer and using it in my cooking as well and I’ve loved it. I keep a gallon in the kitchen and one in my bathroom. I’ve also enjoyed adding a heaping tablespoon to my bath for an all over body moisturizer, it feels and smells amazing! My husband also started using it as an aftershave and he now says he’ll never use anything else. It is very soothing… Well, my 3 year old daughter had a rash all over her body yesterday – pretty much head to toe and it looked bad, big welt looking rash – and so I gave her a bath and added the coconut oil so it would cover all of her skin. The rash was nearly gone by the end of the day and I hadn’t done anything else – nothing else topical or other medicines. I was sure that the anti-bacterial anti-fungal properties helped the rash naturally. I’m so glad I’ve found this site to learn about the use and benefits of coconut oil. I’d never heard of using it before.
Thanks for responding, Robin. I was wondering if maybe you had it to thicken your hair. A friend of mine had one years back because her hair was thin and fine.. I have heard that about permanent dyes as well.
I regularly get a weave. It “thickens” your hair by damaging it. I have very thin hair and it is the only way I can give it body (actually a permanent wave will do the same thing). It doesn’t actually touch your scalp, but you do breathe the fumes. That is the downside. I like the blonde too, I think it “freshens” my look.
Then there are folks like me who inherited premature grey! ugh! I have to use permanent color to cover the resistant greys!! Because I need it to cover the grey, the roots are what need it the most often….Aaack! My face is too young-looking to leave it completely grey, which it would be IF I didn’t color it.
Any suggestions??? Safer products, BUT do the job?? Some products simply do not cover the grey…
Sorry, I am sooo vain LOL Seriously, I’ve contemplated just letting it be grey, but my kids and husband yell,” NO WAY!!!! ”
Thanks for any suggestions.
Hi Robyn!
First of all, thank you sharing your knowledge of healthy eating/living with the world.
I have long used coconut oil for cooking and have tried it as a skin moisturizer, but just can’t get over the lingering coconut smell. I buy a cold pressed organic oil (http://tropicaltraditions.com) that retains a lot of the coconut odor and has been great for cooking/smoothies.
I’ve thought about buying the more processed oil for the skin to help eliminate the odor, but am concerned about any negative health benefits the more processed oil my have.
Do you have any recommendations for getting over the coconut smell or what are your thoughts on using the more processed coconut oil just for the skin?
Thanks for any suggestions!
I would like to get some of your group buy stuff when I go to Utah next month, hope there is some left over. Where in Utah are you?
