Dehydrated Eggs
For Robyn’s Oat Coconut Cookie Mix she calls for dehydrated eggs. I am curious as to what brand anyone may suggest. I was at the store and had the #10 can of Morning Moos whole egg product but then got to wondering what ingredients and things go into this. I got a little weary and put it back. I then went to the health food store and all I could find there was bob’s red mill egg replacement. Which is better? If any? I couldn’t find any ingredient listings but am still trying to solve this mystery for myself. Let me know what you use/recommend.
Unless Robyn has a really great unadulterated brand, I personally think this is one of those ingredients I’d only use in an actual famine or time of severe financial hardship.
I checked around, and these brands seem to be very simple: just eggs and possibly anti-caking agents:

https://www.usaemergencysupply.com/food_storage/powdered_eggs_dehydrated_eggs.htm – the ‘Powdered Whole Eggs’ say the ingredients are 100% whole egg solids
http://beprepared.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_FS%20D120_A_name_E_Whole%20Egg%20Powder (says ingredients are Whole Egg Solids)
One reason to avoid the product would be that it comes from factory-farmed chicken eggs. This site, while adding in complete lies (saying that the farms are set up for the chickens’ comfort, for instance), clearly states that the product is from factory farms: http://www.eggstore.com/
