Ginger’s granddaughter Theodora drinking GS
I’m sharing GSG reader Ginger’s photos here, with her permission, of her adorable granddaughter Theodora drinking GS. I’ll ask others who have sent me photos if I can share them, and I’ll post them here if they say yes. I hope the photos are inspiring to those with little ones who haven’t yet gotten in the habit. It’s so much easier with little ones than older ones, to make the shift! Here’s hoping you do it now if you have babies!

Speaking of which-
At what age is it best to start giving them green smoothies? I’m just wondering for future reference.
Teach your children well!
The ultimate is to breastfeed exclusively till 18 months, but since most of us don’t pull that off, just start GS when you begin supplementing. And keep the ingredients minimal, branching out only after you test a limited-ingredient GS for allergens.
Hi Robyn,
I have a concern. Since all this food is raw, is there a worry about bacteria, especially for our young ones?
No worries about bacteria. Bacteria is everywhere. No antibacterial soap or spray or lotion is going to protect us from that. Your best defense against it is a very healthy GI tract that is populated with beneficial microorganisms, so you can easily fight off invading bad bacteria. Eating lots of greens, lots of raw plant food, and a bit of naturally fermented food (natural probiotic) like I teach in Ch. 8 is the best way to avoid bacterial issues.
