Coming up on this blog, I’m going to talk about all the sites and newsletters and experts out there in the nutrition, raw food, and alternative health space–my unvarnished opinion of each of them. Also BPAs in plastics/metal cans and what to do about that issue. And I’ll do a series on the FDA–some of its biggest screwups lately and what’s so fundamentally wrong with that agency.
So I would make that if I were able to get the raw almonds. I couldn’t really afford to buy 100 lbs for myself or even split between myself and the 2 other people who were interested when the co-op was going. Is there no other way to buy smaller quantities of truly raw almonds? It is just sad for me because I hear such great things about all the almond recipes!
It’s okay, just use almonds you can get in the store. They’ll be pasteurized and unsprouted, but still good for you. Sprouted is IDEAL because they’re live, but don’t feel bad about using regular almonds for this and other uses.
I would love to have access to the raw almonds as well. I’m in Nevada so if anyone hears on ways for the rest of us to purchase smaller quantities I would love to be a part. I’m trying to watch my money right now paying down some bills but I have decided to try and incorporate at least one new idea a month whether it’s vitamineral green or another superfood in my green smoothie. Also working my way up to eventually upgrade to the famous Blendtec Robyn speaks so highly about. I tried some coconut and I think this did the trick Robyn because I noticed a little weight loss! I love all your information and I’m so glad I found you. I really appreciate you!!!
did you have to dehydrate the almonds back to dry after soaking?

You have to dehydrate only if you want them to last several weeks. You could certainly just eat the wet almonds after soaking them, but use them within a few days, and refrigerate.
sorry i meant for the almond jjoy! I made it with non soaked pasturized almonds tonight (my mom just picked up my almonds–I’ll get them in 2 weeks—so so so excited!) this is SOOOOO good! how long do they keep? I sure don’t want to make a goal of finishing off the pan this week but it sure cost a lot to make..any tips?
(to clarify–when I do get my unpasturized almonds–you soaked them —I would probably need to dehydrate back to crunchy for this recipe right? how long and what temp? is there a general temp you ALWAYS dehydrate any almonds at?) THANKS

Where can you buy agave nectar?
Lala, dehydrate at 105 degrees just to be safe. Till they are dry, approximately overnight. You can save money by getting agave and coconut oil in my group buys. Meghan, I’m going to try to do agave nectar in my February group buy which I **hope** to open up to y’all across the U.S. Workin’ on it.
Here locally, we do four gallons of raw/organic agave for $130.
I’m going to do coconut oil by the gallon in this upcoming group buy as well.
Will the agave nectar and coconut oil be open to Canadians for the group buy?
For the almond buy, we accommodated only Canadians who could go to a dropoff point across the U.S. border.
I will check into it for this.
