Vitamix vs Blendtec
I am in the market for a blender and I came upon your blogs. It seems that you would recommend a Blendtec over a Vitamix as do other bloggers. I was reading on another site that the Blendtec doesn’t stand up to blending frozen fruits and/or ice and so now I am wondering what your comments are on that. We love to use frozen fruit in our smoothies that we currently make with a blender that is on its last…

Will it blend ice?
oops, this is actually a link:
Will it blend ice?
Awhile back we mentioned to some people that we were “dumping
Dishnetwork TV” because we were so mad at them and their service and going to Direct TV” and the people said, “That’s funny, we just dumped Direct TV because we were so mad at them and their service and went with Dishnetwork” HA HA
This is what you are going to get between Vitamix and Blentec
I have had both am now using Blentec because when I moved I gave away my Vitamix, and got a good sale price on Blentec at Costco. I like the Blentec shape of the container, easier to wash and get your food out, no problem with frozen fruit or ice either.
But I loved the Vitamix also, both are great amazing awesome machines. Also, I had great service from both companies.
I love my blendtec, we do frozen fruit all the time, that thing is powerful!
Maybe that other site promotes VitaMix? The BlendTec will take giant frozen strawberries and make them smooth purees–it works beautifully with frozen fruit and ice.

I use the THERMOMIX that is so powerful that I can make Sesame milk!
It’s very expensive but it does everything, I mean Everything!

I love my Blendtec because it fits under my cabinets, I only need one container for dry and wet. It blends everything from wheatgrass (with a little water) to frozen bananas and strawberries to greens. It makes ice-cream, sorbets, grinds grain, makes hot soups, ice-cold smoothies….etc. I love it. It’s super easy to use, clean and everything. I also like that it isn’t a monstor on my countertop. I also didn’t like the look of having to do the “Orange Julius” stick pumping action! Ha! I also don’t have a lot of room in my kitchen and limited on space so this was definately the one for me. It even has more HP than the Vita Mix and therefore doesn’t need the stick.. I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY. I use it many times during the day, too. I LOVE IT.
For anyone who is wondering if the Blendtec with blend it, you have to visit Discover Channel and check out their videos. They didn’t stick to the traditional blending of food (fresh or frozen), instead they blended lighters, a video camer, and an alarm clock. By the time the alarm clock was finished, it was black dust! INCREDIBLE. Yes, this machine will blend frozen fruit and ice! The link is below.

We were debating on whether to get a vitamix or a blendtec also. We finally settled on the blendtec after tons of research. We just ordered it and it should be here by Monday! I’m so excited to try it out!
Love my Blentec…it blends frozen stuff very well. I like that it is square…I find it easier to clean than the traditional rounded containers.
Blendtec is ok. The pricepoint is high. The preprogrammed button for the smoothie does not work on the first try. I have to keep the pulse button pressed to finish blending the frozen fruit.
