Yes, oat groats are the same things as “kernels” or “berries” of other grains–totally uncut. Steel cut oats cut the groats into a few pieces with a steel blade.
Bulgur is made of wheat, not a variety of wheat but just another whole-grain product–faster to cook because it’s smaller than whole wheat berries.
what’s your opinion on soy anything robyn?
Short answer: whole- and fermented-soy products, good food! Unfortunately you’re adding those estrogenic foods to SO much fractionated soy products in your diet . . . all the bread, canned, boxed food you’re eating now . . . that you risk real hormone imbalance problems.
